Webelos Scouts

Welcome Webelos Scouts and Parents

Come Visit Us!

Webelos Scouts and parents are invited to attend our Troop Meetings and get to know what Boy Scouts in Troop 70 is all about. All scouts meet each Monday at 7:00 p.m. in Ross Hall at the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, except on the Monday following campouts which is a meeting of our Scout Patrol Leaders Council. Please let us know you plan to attend a meeting by contacting our Assistant Scoutmaster and Recruiting Coordinator, Tom Jefferson via email at tj78733@gmail.com.

Webelos Scout Campouts

Troop 70 scouts camp almost every month of the year and invite Webelos Scouts and parents to join us for our campouts in November and December. It’s a great way to get to know the scouts and the kinds of activities in which our scouts are active.

Webelos Scouts will be guests of Troop 70 with Webelos Scouts being paired with a scout patrol. Each Webelos Scout must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or designated adult who will be paired with our adult patrol. All adults attending campouts are required to complete BSA Youth Protection Training and more information can be found at http://www.scouting.org/Training/youthprotection.aspx. BSA medical forms, parts A and B, are required for all participants (http://www.scouting.org/filestore/healthsafety/pdf/680-001_ab.pdf). Webelos Scouts can participate with a designated non-parent if a parent/guardian completes the Webelos Consent Form.

Below is more information on our upcoming campouts for Webelos Scouts and parents. Please go to our Weekend Camping page for more details as they become available.

Troop 70 will host Webelos at 3 Troop meetings and 3 campouts in the coming months, as follows:

  • October 24th:   Troop Meeting
  • November 5th-6th:   Campout:  Build a Trebuchet and Launch Pumpkins at Pedernales Ranch
  • November 28th:   Troop Meeting
  • December 3rd-4th:   Campout:  Rock Wall Climbing at Lost Pines
  • January 9th:   Troop Meeting
  • January 14th-15:   Campout:  Biking at Somerville State Park

Webelos interested in Troop 70 are welcome at any Troop 70 meeting.  The dates shown above will offer the best interraction with the Troop. Further information on each campout will be available as each date draws nearer.

Do you have a Den Chief?

If you are a Webelos Den Leader, do you have a Den Chief? Don't know what a Den Chief is? A Den Chief is an older Boy Scout, usually a former Cub Scout, with knowledge of scout skills and leadership abilities. He shares his enthusiasm with you and your scouts, helps in your den and encourages the boys to continue on in Scouting by showing them what Boy Scouts is all about. We have Den Chief candidates ready to help you. Just contact us and we will help set you up!

Looking for a Troop?
